Chris Morris begins his first season as the Husson head baseball coach in 2020.
Chris Morris ‘10 was named the Head Coach at Husson University in August of 2019. Morris returns to Husson after coaching stints at Brandeis University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Morris was the recruiting coordinator and pitching coach at Brandeis University prior to his appointment here at Husson. Morris headed up the nationwide recruiting effort on top of running the daily operations of the pitching staff. Prior to Brandeis, Morris spent three seasons as an assistant at MIT in Cambridge, MA. The Engineers captured the 2016 ECAC Division III New England Championship.
From 2016-2018, Morris was the head coach of the Sanford Mainers of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL). He led the Moose to the NECBL Northern Division Title and was named the 2016 Joel Cooney Manager of the Year for his efforts. In total, Morris has coached over 20 players that have gone on to sign professional contracts.
Prior to joining the MIT staff, Morris was an assistant baseball and football coach here at Husson University. "I am very honored to be named the head baseball coach at Husson University," remarks Morris. "It is with great pride that I take this position. There has always been a strong tradition of success in the baseball program and I look forward to continuing that success."
Morris began his coaching career as the head coach and general manager of the American Legion team in Brewer, Maine (2009-12), winning back-to-back Zone 1 Championships in 2010 and 2011.
A 2010 graduate of Husson, Morris was a four-year letter-winner and team captain with the baseball program while lettering twice in football for the Eagles. Morris went on to earn an M.Ed. from Endicott College in 2014. He currently resides in Hampden with his wife Kathleen and son Max.
